3. SENSORIAL RHYTHM MONITOR
2019
ARDUINO
7”x4”x2”
Sensorial rhythm monitor made using Arduino. It has three sensors which measure the corporal rhythms of an individual’s body temperature, heart rate, and sweat accumulation which were specifically selected to pinpoint anxiety. When the rhythms are disrupted and the wearer feels anxious the machine produces a response to let the viewers of the object know that the wearer is disturbed on a technically quantifiable level. This was made ironically as a form of critique on how we often trust data more than an individual’s feelings. The machine is made for children growing up in environments where this way of thinking sees mental health as a farce.
